2009 Seminar Programme

Hear from leading industry figures including:

Jeff Banks CBE - Designer
Tuesday 8th September 11.00 - 12.00

"As a Fashion Designer I spend my life constantly influenced by everything in the environment that surrounds me.

Colour, nature, shape, buildings. This expresses itself in silhouette, pattern and colour. As I flit from designing men’s clothes to vases, everything collides in the melting pot. Once there used to be a differentiation in timescale between fashion and home but now that is no longer the case.

We have returned to the William Morris era of the arts & craft movements where there were no boundaries.

This seminar will give an overview of my life in design and predictions for the future of interiors."

Following last year's well-received talk from Red or Dead founder Wayne Hemingway, Jeff will lead the 2009 programme and give an insight into his career. From helping set the fashion tone for 1960s London with the opening of Clobber, to presenting The Clothes Show for the BBC; Jeff has helped pave the way for British design for decades.

Jeff's achievements span both fashion and interior design. From founding high street fashion giant Warehouse to working with some of the UK's leading retailers such as Harvey Nichols and Harrods, he has continued to sustain his love of interiors and in recent years devoted his time to flooring design. Jeff's various rug collections for National Floor Show exhibitors Asiatic Carpets, as well as his other attainments, make him well placed to give an insight into flooring design today.

A high profile figure within the industry for many years, he will give a seminar detailing his years in design and passion for interiors.
